Construction Birthday Party

This weekend was eventful, along with the regularly filled weekend events, my daughter had her school carnival and we had a birthday party for one of my godson's. The

party had a such a cute little theme and the kiddos had a ball. I had so much fun putting together this "Construction" themed party. Like always my bff (the other part of my creative brain) and birthday boys’ mother has an idea, she gives me that idea and I run with it and create the vision.

So, if you have a little guy or girl with a birthday coming up and you need a little inspiration for a great birthday party, this is a super cute and easy birthday theme to pull off. Just focusing on a few keys areas will bring any party together and make it feel festive and fun. I made this cardboard CAT claw machine in the entryway the biggest focal point cardboard box, shoe box, string and some black balloons creates this super cool party prop. Caution tape not only adds a cool decorative piece but also keep the kiddos out of rooms you don't want them to venture into

The other focal point was in the front of the home, we added a banner made from simple yellow poster board and poster board letters to the mantle. Turn that wall mounted television into a part of the decor. We displayed a Terrible 2 construction photo on the television and now the whole wall became a part of the party theme.

I know dessert tables are huge right now, but mom and dad wanted to it keep simple and ordered pizzas. So, I didn’t go crazy on the food table, but it still was cool and so cute. A black table cloth, toy trucks and a few signs made the table look great.

Make a fun table for the little ones to eat at using a black table cloth and a few strips of yellow paper to look like a road. I added a sign and bam a super cute and easy table.

Do you have paper streamers laying around from old parties? If not head to the dollar tree and pick up a couple. I hung black and yellow streamers over the patio door and added black balloon along the top for another visual point of interest.

We created different game/work stations to keep them entertained and there was an underground (in the basement lol) bounce house. The stations included ring toss, we used construction cones and rings to play, a construction zone where they used blocks to build and the most popular station for the little and big kids alike was the window washing station. Those were the wettest/cleanest/streakiest window around, but they loved it, we simply put out water bottles and squeegees. Just adding a few printed signs made these stations feel special.

The party favor where so adorable, cute little hard hats and Home Depot work aprons filled with Dollar Tree trinkets.

Guest were greeted with a caution warning on the front door, that they were about to enter the terrible 2 zone. A few balloons a cone and ladder added to the theme and decor.

We had a blast. I hope you enjoyed this post and found a little inspiration with what we created. keep scrolling for more fun pics of the party. Share your pictures if you decide to use this theme. I would love to see them.

To find/purchase the items that we used click on the item below. The signs were DIY some of them were printed from Mandy's Party Printables (Click here) and some of them I made.
